Tim Phillips, Oregon investment manager, vested in his community

Portland, Oregon-based chief executive boasts an extensive track record for helping those in need.

CEO Tim Phillips
, of the Oregon-based investment firm
Phillips & Company
, is no stranger to philanthropy. An active member of his community, Mr. Phillips helps make Portland, Oregon a better place.

Over the years, Tim Phillips’ Oregon-based company has supported a number of organizations that help the less fortunate, including the Children’s Cancer Association, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the 9/11 Disaster Victims Fund, the Boys & Girls Aid Society, Goodwill, Junior Achievement, the OHSU Foundation, OMSI Development, Loaves and Fishes, the Salvation Army, and the United Way.

The Portland, Oregon CEO also sits on the board of Metropolitan Family Services (MFS), a non-profit organization that delivers programs to lower income people in the community. The group’s purpose is to help children, families, and older adults to thrive and succeed despite their circumstances.

The CEO of Phillips & Company also takes advantage of social outings to help the most vulnerable in the community. This year, he attended the 26th annual ‘Classic Wines Auction’ at the Oregon Convention Center.

The event raised more than $2.3 million, which was distributed among five charities that focus on helping children and families. The recipient charities were: the Metropolitan Family Service, New Avenues for Youth, Friends of the Children-Portland, Trillium Family Service, and the YWCA Clark County. The Classic Wines Auction Inc. is a non-profit organization that produces food and wine events to raise funds for charities, and has raised almost $24 million since its inception in 1982.

But Tim Phillips’ Oregon philanthropic activities extend well beyond helping people. Earlier this year he also participated in the Portland-based fundraiser for the Oregon Humane Society, an event in which $73,000 was raised for the city’s stray animal population.

Tim Phillips’ Oregon Humane Society participation was a factor in ensuring that 10,000 pets will find homes this year.

Mr. Phillips is a member of the Endowment Committee and the Board of Trustees for Oregon Episcopal School, one of Oregon’s oldest and most prominent faith-based educational institutions. He also served as the Board Chairman of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Oregon from 1996 to 1998.
